| A World Heritage site, Bath (Roman name Aquae

to the natural hot springs, which were later exploited in
spectacular fashion by the Romans who arrived in Britain in the
1st Century AD. In the 10th Century the first King of all England
was crowned on the site of Bath Abbey which was later built in its
present form in the 16th Century.
